Welcome to the Lost Lake Lodge Blog

May 14th, 2009

Well, I have yet to figure out how to make this blog so that you folks can add your own stories but I am working on it. It's probably something the average three year old could do in no time, but, I am not three anymore darn it.

This week was mostly warm and sunny with rain today but Saturday's forecast is for a bit of snow which is not normal but we do live in the land of quick changing weather.

Our first guests check in tomorrow, Friday, and one group has been coming to Lost Lake since we moved here in 1989. Another group has been here almost as long. You won't believe this but one group comes here for the fishing of course but also, they have a nightly contest around the kitchen, trying to out do the other assigned cook from the night before. I tend to wander by their cottage a lot hoping for handouts. I never knew you could cook Italian so well on a BBQ?

Lesley and Bryan's baby is still hiding from the inevitable, not showing any signs of leaving his / her comfy, warm home.

Judy's dog Mr. Rigby discovered a momma raccoon under a shed and decided to pay a visit. He was very lucky and managed to hide in a place between the floor joists that the nasty critter couldn't fit. Our other Yorkie, Sarge, discovered him and started barking letting us know where his buddy was and after removing most of the lower wall, I could see Rigs cowering and shaking. Boy, was he happy to get out of there. After a lengthy vet visit that night, he was found to have thirteen punctures but none did more damaging than ripping his skin. He was in a lot of pane but the very next morning was playing ball again.

Thanks

Ed
