| While many of our guests are here for the fishing, there’s so
many more reasons to visit us at Lost Lake. A multitude of activities
await you for those who want more out of their holiday as well as the serenity
of sitting in a boat and being in tune with nature! For the active vacationer, hiking and exploring our interpretive trails is not only invigorating but educational as well. Much can be learned about the flora and fauna that we live with. For the geologist at heart, visit some of the deserted silver mines in the area and keep a piece of "heavy rock" for your collection at home. Have a GPS unit you haven’t quite figured out yet? We’ll give you a course on the finer points. Go Geo-Caching to 10 spots and enter our contest. We’ll give you the maps and get you up and running in no time. |

| For the adventurer, climb a gently
sloping mountain using the rope as a guide all the way up to a lookout point
that sits high above Lost Lake. The whole valley can be seen from here.
Black Bear feeding stations are maintained to enhance your photographic
chances of these magnificent wild animals. Moose photographic opportunities are best maximized by stealthily hiding near known ponds at day break or even before.
Want to go howling for wolves? We will show you how it’s done. A word of advice, their eerie reply is guaranteed to send shivers up your spine. Hummingbird feeders and nesting stations bring a wide variety of birds right to your cabin window. Birds that are never seen in the south are common here. |

| Other activities include wild blueberry picking which is a definite
treat for pie lovers. Sports minded enthusiasts can challenge their friends
to a game of horseshoes or travel an hour by car and play a round
of golf. Historians can enjoy several small museums in
our area, just ask us for more details.
Closer to home you can jump into the refreshing waters of Lost Lake and swim in clear waters that are 10-12 feet deep. A short boat ride takes you to a large, weed free shallow sand bar. This is a great place to swim with the deepest point being about 5 feet. Water temperatures usually reach comfortable swimming temperatures by mid June and stay quite warm until the middle of September. Weather not cooperating? Old standby board games are still very popular and are yours for the asking. Or, check out our complimentary movie library, some new and some not so new. Trade some "True fishing stories" in the lodge or play cards in the comfort of your cabin. The level of activity you choose is entirely up to you! No stress any day other than what to do, if anything.
Contests at Lost Lake Wilderness Lodge this year. All Season Photo Contest Starting on May 16th, Lost Lake Wilderness Lodge will offer two "FREE FULL AMERICAN PLAN" fishing trips to be taken next season. Both trips will be for two people each and include everything offered by our "Seven Night American Plan" vacation. You must be a past or current guest of ours and the photo must be taken while you were our guest. The contest winner will be chosen based on the quality and creativity of the submitted photos. Each entrant can submit up to 3 photos. All submitted photos will be used by Lost Lake Wilderness Lodge for marketing purposes. All photos must be submitted by September 30, 2009. Photos can be sent by email to lostlake@nt.net or mailed in final form by CD, DVD or flash card or photographic paper. We cannot return your photos. Please mark your email subject line or envelope with "Photo Contest 2009." Winners will be notified before Christmas so you might use your trip as a Christmas gift. What better way to impress dear old Mom and Dad. Tips: Choose your subject based on an activity that others enjoy while on vacation at Lost Lake. Catch and release fishing, boating, canoeing, hiking, biking, cooking, golfing, lolly gagging (doing nothing), rock climbing or geocaching are just a few of the topics you might choose from. All photos should be submitted at three hundred dots per inch or higher. Sunsets are always nice too but they should include people in them. Thank you all in advance for your photos and have fun with this contest. Unlike the lotteries, your odds of winning are very good.
